Terms of Use
Last updated: July 6, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Wallet for XMR mobile application ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms incorporate the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA") as required by Apple's App Store guidelines.
1. Self-custody wallet
The App is a self-custody Monero (XMR) wallet. This means:
- Your seed phrase and private keys are generated and stored on your device.
- We do not have access to your wallet, your seed phrase, or your funds.
- We cannot recover your wallet, reset a lost PIN, or reverse any transaction.
- You are solely responsible for backing up your seed phrase and keeping it secret.
If you lose your seed phrase, your funds cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
2. Not affiliated with The Monero Project
Wallet for XMR is an independent application. It is not an official Monero project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Monero Project. "Monero" and related marks belong to their respective owners.
3. Eligibility and lawful use
You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, including any laws relating to cryptocurrency, taxation, and sanctions in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the App is legal where you live.
4. No financial, legal, or tax advice
The App provides tools to manage your Monero wallet. It does not provide financial, legal, investment, or tax advice. Cryptocurrencies are volatile and carry significant risk, including total loss. You are solely responsible for your decisions.
5. Third-party nodes and services
The App connects to Monero network nodes (a default node or a custom remote node you configure) and may fetch public exchange-rate data to display fiat values. We do not operate the Monero network. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, uptime, privacy practices, or behavior of third-party nodes or public data providers.
6. Security
You are responsible for keeping your device secure, keeping your operating system up to date, protecting access to your device, and safeguarding your seed phrase, PIN, and any biometric configuration that unlocks the App. Do not share your seed phrase with anyone. No support agent will ever ask for it.
7. Delete Wallet
The Delete Wallet function removes your local wallet data from the device. This action is irreversible. Without your seed phrase, deleted wallets cannot be restored.
8. Intellectual property
The App, including its interface, design, and code (excluding open-source components under their own licenses), is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App as permitted by these Terms and the Apple EULA.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that transactions will be successfully broadcast or confirmed.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, funds, data, goodwill, or cryptocurrency, arising out of or related to your use of the App — including loss resulting from a lost or forgotten seed phrase, unauthorized access to your device, network or node failures, or user error. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, for the App.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
12. Apple-specific terms
The following terms apply because the App is distributed through the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and us only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Your license to use the App is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple EULA.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App to you (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and intellectual-property claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.
13. Export and sanctions compliance
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
14. Termination
We may update, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time. You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to the support contact listed on the App's App Store page.
